Every time I read something from Tanya about Dude and E.V., I am taken back to all the times I found refuge in their home. I was a bad boy back then, but they never threw that up to me. I too am one who would have been lost if Dude had not taken me by the ear a few times. I felt sometimes that I was in the middle of a storm when Dude would come to me and cry on my young shoulders because she and E.V. had argued over something. I would just listen until she got it off her chest. Life would go on, and I would always find my way to their home. I remember seeing Tanya and Tracy as little darlings whom Dude and E.V. loved more than life. I know that because I saw it with my own eyes. Like Tanya and E.V., my granddaughter Chelsey and I saved each other. I know they are proud of Terry and Sonny and all their grandchildren. I sit here weeping again, but they are good tears 'cause I know I was loved by my Aunt Dude and Uncle E.V. Grace and Peace to all who read this. You loving nephew Howard Lips, Jr.
